Advancement Requirements
There are five colored belts students earn before
being qualified for a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Each belt level has
different techniques the student will need to become proficient in
before advancing to the next belt level. In Tae Kwon Do, students
learn basic blocks, punches, and kicks, forms (which are comprised
of a series of moves that condition the body and teach the student a
vast array of techniques), three-step (which are sparring drills),
and sparring (which is free-style fighting). The student's behavior
and attitude play an important role in consideration for
advancement. Students test for their belt before the head instructor
of their area (David Robinette, or Mark Moore).
